Write for us
We welcome pitches that help curious readers enter an arts subject with more confidence. A strong proposal has a clear question, a useful reader takeaway and a scope that can be handled without pretending one interpretation speaks for everyone.
What we welcome
Pitch accessible explanations, thoughtful comparisons, cultural context, accounts of how a form works or ideas that help readers approach an arts experience. We value distinct subjects, careful language and a clear sense of why the piece will matter to someone new to the topic as well as someone already interested.
What to include
Tell us the proposed subject, the central question, the main points you would cover and what a reader might take away. Note any relevant interests or connections that could affect how the piece is read. A concise outline is more useful than a finished article sent without context.
Sending a proposal
Send pitches through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Unsolicited proposals are considered, but sending a pitch does not guarantee publication. Please do not include confidential material or work you do not have the right to share.
